Class Descriptions

BALLET / TAP COMBO
A playful introduction to dance through music and motion. Children explore the movement concepts of tempo, space and energy. All young children will delight in gliding, sliding, galloping, leaving and skipping. This class will also include a segment of introductory tap and counting skills.

BALLET / TAP / JAZZ COMBO
Emphasis in this combination class is on developing proper technique, focusing on ballet and jazz movement, proper body alignment, coordination, flexibility, floor combinations and counting.

LEAPS & TURNS
This class is designed to develop proper technique for the safe execution of the turns, jumps, and leaps used in all forms of dance, integrating skills into progressions that challenge students across the floor and in combinations. The focus of this class will be to improve balance, coordination, flexibility and muscle memory.

HIP HOP
This high-energy class uses the latest sounds in Hop Hop, R&B and pop music together with movements influenced by today's hottest video choreographers presented in an age-appropriate manner. The class begins with a basic warm-up to stretch and tone the body followed by fun and energetic combinations.

BALLET
This class emphasizes the development of classical ballet skills with focus on proper placement, alignment and coordination of arm, leg and footwork. Students will learn ballet vocabulary through barre and center work while building strength and flexibility.

POINTE
A preparation class for intermediate students ready for pointe. This class will focus on muscle strength, safety, and total body awareness. Readiness for pointe work is determined by each student's strength and physical development not by their age. The instructor will advise parents when a student has the necessary strength and maturity to go on pointe.

“I have no dance background and this last year was my first time ever to research dance studios for my four year old daughter. On Our Toes Dance Studio came highly recommended. I could tell right away that Tammy would be an unbelievable instructor. She is very calm when teaching her students. My daughter loves learning to dance from Ms. Tammy. We could not be happier with On Our Toes Dance Studio.”
